What it is for

The user wizard sets up several users in one pass. You select the users once and then work through the steps. Each step creates its part in the CUCM as soon as you click Deploy.

User lists and desk phones can be read in from CSV. A separate CSV area also creates any number of desk phones without users.

Prerequisites

  • Licence module cucm.
  • Permission Users Phones Wizard (ROLE_APP_WIZARD). Individual steps need their own permissions: ROLE_APP_WIZARD_DESKPHONE (desk phones, device profiles, softphones), ROLE_APP_WIZARD_VOICEMAIL, ROLE_APP_WIZARD_RDMI, ROLE_APP_WIZARD_HUNT_GROUP, ROLE_APP_WIZARD_PICKUP_GROUP, ROLE_APP_WIZARD_TEAMS. Steps without the permission are hidden.
  • Locations, packages and templates or Template 2.0 are set up.
  • The Voicemail step appears only if the connection has voicemail, the Convert to Teams step only with a configured Teams integration.

Step by step: Set up users

  1. Open Wizard. The page is called Users Phones Wizard.
  2. In the Select Users step, select the users from the list or click Import CSV.
  3. Enter Phone Number, Location and Package for each user. The following steps use these values.
  4. Use Next to go to Desk Phones. For each user click Add phone, select the model, enter the MAC address and click Deploy.
  5. Under Device Profiles, optionally select the model and template of an Extension Mobility profile and click Deploy.
  6. Under Soft Phones, tick the clients for each user. The buttons at the top set one client for all users. Click Deploy.
  7. Under Voicemail, select the template and the line and click Deploy.
  8. Under Create RD/MI, choose between RD and MI, enter the Mobile Number and click Deploy.
  9. Under Hunt Groups, select Directory Number, hunt group and line group for each user and click Deploy.
  10. Under Pickup Groups, select the line and the group and click Deploy.
  11. After each step, check the counters pending, success, error and skiped. In case of an error, select retry or skip.
  12. At the end, click Reset Wizard to start with new users.

Step by step: Read in users from CSV

  1. Click Import CSV.
  2. Prepare the file with the column order User ID | Location Name | Package Name | Phone Type | Template Name | Mac Address, with at most 50 rows.
  3. Select the file and click Save.

Step by step: Desk phones without users from CSV

  1. In the Desk Phones step, open the area Desk phones from CSV file (without users).
  2. Use Download CSV template to download the template and fill in one row per phone.
  3. Upload the file. EasyUC determines the location from the number range and preselects the template if exactly one exists for the device type.
  4. Under Apply to all phones, set location, template or package for all rows if required.
  5. Fix the reported errors and start the creation.

Check the result and troubleshoot

  • "Not all fields were completed for this enduser in the first step": add phone number, location and package under Select Users.
  • "No IP phone model is configured in Template 2.0 for this location yet.": use Open Template settings to open the IP-Telefone & Video (IP phones and video) area and store models.
  • "Some endusers are missing the required data and will not be imported!": check the affected CSV rows.
  • "Please choose the location: with this CUCM connection it cannot be derived from the number": set the location using Apply to all phones.
  • Reset Wizard only empties the wizard. Objects already created in the CUCM remain.
