EasyUC for Cisco

Door Bells: camera image and door opener on the phone

Show the camera image on the Cisco phone when a door bell calls, and open the door with a key.

EasyUC · Version 4.8.7

In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → Devices → Door Bells

What it is for

When a door bell calls a Cisco phone, EasyUC can show the image of the door camera on the display of the called phone and offer a key for opening the door. Pressing the key sends the stored code as DTMF into the call.

For this, EasyUC monitors the calls of the registered phones via Trace Calls. If it detects a call from the door bell device, it fetches the image from the stored address, adapts it to the display and sends it again at a fixed interval until the call ends. When the call ends, the key is no longer enabled either.

Prerequisites

  • Licence module cucm.
  • Permission Door Bells (ROLE_APP_LIST_DOOR_BELLS). For the call history, Door Bell Call Details (ROLE_APP_LIST_DOOR_BELL_CALL_DETAILS).
  • Trace Calls is enabled on the CUCM connection.
  • The door bell is created as a device in the CUCM and provides a camera image via an HTTP address that EasyUC can reach.
  • The phones that are to show the image can reach the EasyUC appliance.

Step by step

  2. Click Add IP Phone, select a phone under Device that is to show the image, and click Save. Repeat this for every phone.

  • Under Action → Call History, the test call is listed with status and times.
  • If no image appears, check whether the called phone is listed under Trace Calls Devices and whether EasyUC can reach the image address.
  • "Attention! This Door Bell was already configured, you are in the edit mode": A configuration already exists for the selected device.
  • If the dialog reports devices that were not found, you can clean up the outdated entries with Should EasyUC remove these devices from trace calls?
  • If the door does not open, check the code at the door bell and whether it evaluates DTMF during the call.
