CUCM connection options

CURRI settings per CUCM connection

Define the search order of the phonebooks and the format of the displayed caller name.

EasyUC · Version 4.8.7

In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → Administration → CUCM & Provisioning → CUCM Connections → Actions → CURRI settings

Purpose

Through CURRI (Cisco Unified Routing Rules Interface), the CUCM asks an external service during a call what is to happen with the call. EasyUC uses this for name display: the CURRI service looks up the number of the caller in the phonebooks and returns the name it finds to the CUCM. The phone then shows the name instead of only the number.

This dialog defines two things for a CUCM connection. First, the order: EasyUC searches either first in the personal CUCM contacts of the called user and then in the EasyUC phonebook, or the other way round. Second, the format of the name, separately for matches from the EasyUC phonebook and for matches from the CUCM contacts.

The format consists of fixed text and placeholders in double curly braces. EasyUC removes placeholders without a value, and multiple spaces become one. If there are several matches for the same number, EasyUC joins the names with commas. The setting is stored in EasyUC only and takes effect with the next call.

Prerequisites

  • License with the cucm module. The entry is not tied to the provisioning license feature.
  • EasyUC account with the ROLE_APP_ADMIN role. Only administrators see the Administration menu.
  • The CUCM connection has been created and enabled. For a disabled connection, Actions shows only Enable Connection.
  • In the CUCM, an External Call Control Profile that points to the CURRI service of EasyUC is set up and assigned to the affected patterns.
  • The phonebooks are filled. A format cannot replace missing contact data.

Step by step

  1. In the header, select the EasyUC Cisco workspace.
  2. In the menu, open Administration → CUCM & Provisioning → CUCM Connections. The Manage CUCM Connections page lists all connections.
  3. In the row of the connection you want, click Actions. The Menu popover opens.
  4. Click CURRI Settings. The CURRI settings dialog opens.
  5. Select the search order: CUCM Personal Phonebook or EasyUC Personal/Global Phonebook. The selected source is searched first.
  6. In the information box below, read which placeholders apply to which source.
  7. Under EasyUC Contact Display Format, enter the format for matches from the EasyUC phonebook, for example {{lastName}} {{firstName}} ({{company}}).
  8. Under CUCM Contact Display Format, enter the format for matches from the CUCM contacts.
  9. Click Save (top right or at the bottom of the dialog). The dialog closes and EasyUC shows a success message (“Success”). Cancel closes the dialog without changes.
  10. Call from a number that is listed in a phonebook and check the display on the phone.

Check the result and narrow down errors

  • Success: On a call from a known number, the phone shows the name in the selected format.
  • Message “Please enter the easyuc phonebook display format” or “Please enter the cucm phonebook display format”: One of the two format fields is empty.
  • The name appears incomplete: The contact lacks the value for a placeholder. EasyUC then omits it.
  • No name appears: Check whether the number is stored in the phonebook in the same format, whether the phonebook is visible for the location and whether the CUCM reaches the CURRI service.
  • The wrong contact appears: The number is listed in both sources. Change the search order.
