Set up CDR import via SFTP

The CUCM delivers its CDR files to EasyUC via SFTP; set retention and anonymisation.

EasyUC · Version 4.8.7

In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → Administration → CUCM & Provisioning → CUCM Connections → Actions → CDR

What it is for

All call reports and the itemized bill are based on the Call Detail Records of the CUCM. The CUCM creates these files itself and transfers them to a Billing Application Server. For this, EasyUC provides a separate SFTP account per CUCM connection.

After receipt, EasyUC processes the files in the background and stores the calls in searchable form. The data stays on your server. Here you set how long it is kept and how many digits of external numbers are anonymised.

Prerequisites

  • Licence module cucm and access to the CUCM connections in the administration.
  • The CUCM reaches the EasyUC appliance via SFTP.
  • CDRs are enabled in the CUCM and you are allowed to enter a Billing Application Server there.

Step by step: Set up CDR reception

  1. Open Administration → CUCM & Provisioning → CUCM Connections.
  2. On the connection, choose Actions → CDR. The dialog is called CDR.
  3. Tick Enable.
  4. Note the FTP user that is displayed. It is cdr- followed by the ID of the connection and cannot be changed.
  5. Enter FTP Password and Ftp Retype Password.
  6. Select Number of Digits to make anonymous.
  7. Under Delete Old Data, enter the retention period in days.
  8. Click Save.
  9. In the CUCM, in Serviceability under the CDR Management settings, enter a Billing Application Server: address of the EasyUC appliance, protocol SFTP, the user you noted and the password.
  10. Make a test call and check the reception after the next CDR transfer.

Step by step: Check reception

  1. In the list of CUCM connections, click logs in the CDR column. The dialog is called CDR Logs.
  2. Check the Pending Files tab: files that have been received but not yet processed, with size and time.
  3. Check the Processed Files tab: status processing or done with the times Uploaded On and Processed On.
  4. Check the Old CDR Data tab: exported old data with a note on how many days remain until it is deleted automatically.

Check the result and troubleshoot

  • In the list of CUCM connections, the CDR column shows whether the function is active.
  • If no file appears under Pending Files or Processed Files after a test call, check the address, user and password of the Billing Application Server in the CUCM and the reachability via SFTP.
  • If files remain under Pending Files permanently, check the background tasks.
  • The itemized bill reports a backlog like this: the call data has been imported only up to a stated time, later calls are missing.
  • The SFTP service of EasyUC uses RSA and ECDSA host keys, no DSA keys.
