EasyUC for Cisco
Busy trigger per line
Define the number of calls at which a line reports busy, for all phones of a user.
In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → Users → Users → User profile → User details → Busy Trigger
What it is for
The busy trigger defines the number of simultaneous calls at which a line on a phone counts as busy. With the value 1, a second caller immediately gets the busy tone or the call forward on busy. With the value 2, the second call is presented as a waiting call.
EasyUC does not set the value for each line individually. It sets it uniformly for all lines on the phones that the user controls. In CUCM, EasyUC writes two fields of the line association: the busy trigger and the maximum number of calls. The latter is set to twice the busy trigger. For soft clients, ATA and analog devices it stays at 2.
The card also shows whether all lines have the same value. EasyUC marks deviations with the ribbon Not in sync.
Prerequisites
- License module
cucmand an active CUCM connection. - Role
ROLE_APP_UPDATE_ENDUSERfor selecting 1 or 2. Without this role the card is read-only. - The user controls at least one phone with a line. Otherwise the card shows No lines on controlled phones and the selection is locked.
- EasyUC does not change device profiles and CTI Route Points. They appear in the overview as not affected.
Step by step: Set the busy trigger
Step by step: Fix a deviation from the phone card
Fields and options
| Field / action | Meaning and use |
|---|---|
| 1 / 2 | Target value of the busy trigger for all lines of the controlled phones. EasyUC does not set other values in the profile. |
| Max. calls | Maximum number of simultaneous calls per line. EasyUC sets 2 × busy trigger, that is 2 or 4. Soft clients, ATA and analog devices get 2. |
| Not in sync | Ribbon on the card when the lines have different values. The 1/2 selection is then empty. |
| Mixed | Entry in the overview with the distribution, for example “3× 1, 1× 2”. Values other than 1 and 2 appear as “≠ 1/2”. |
| deviating | Marker on a line whose value differs from the majority. |
| Not controlled – not changed by 1/2 | Phones of other users that carry a number of this user. EasyUC shows their values but does not write them. |
| Controlled By | Users who control a phone of another user. Without a controlling user it shows nobody. |
| Busy trigger in the template settings | Default for newly created lines per location under Templates → Settings. Values from 1 to 200 are allowed there. This default does not change existing lines. |
Check the result and troubleshoot
- Success: The summary of the overview reads “All N lines: 1” or “All N lines: 2”. In the phone card, every phone shows Busy Trigger and Max. calls with the new value.
- Message “Not changed: …” with device names: EasyUC could not write these devices. Check in CUCM whether the device exists and can be changed, and repeat the selection.
- No lines on controlled phones: No phone is assigned to the user as a controlled device. Assign the phone and reload the profile.
- “Phones of other users could not be loaded”: The overview shows only the user's own devices. The 1/2 selection continues to work.
- “The entries could not be loaded.” EasyUC currently does not know the lines of the phones. The confirmation prompt then appears without details. Reload the profile with Refresh.
- The ribbon Not in sync comes back after a short time: A line was newly created in CUCM or through a template with a different value. Open the overview and set the value again.
