EasyUC for Cisco

Group sign-in: self-service per hunt group

Users sign their number in or out of individual hunt groups, the administrator keeps the baseline.

EasyUC · Version 4.8.7

In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → Groups → Hunt Groups → Group sign-in

What it is for

The HLOG switch of a Cisco phone signs the device out of all hunt groups at once. Group sign-in works at a finer level: a number takes part in a single line group or it does not.

When you enable the feature, EasyUC saves the current membership configuration of the CUCM as the membership baseline. Only memberships from this baseline can later be signed out and signed in again. A signed-out number is removed from the Line Group, and the permission is kept in EasyUC.

The same memberships are available in three places: for administrators and helpdesk on this page, for users in the enduser portal and as an XML service on the phone.

Prerequisites

  • Role ROLE_APP_ADMIN, ROLE_OWNER, ROLE_ADMIN, ROLE_SUPER_ADMIN or ROLE_API_USER. Other accounts do not see the Group sign-in button. With ROLE_APP_READ_ONLY the page is read-only.
  • The CUCM connection is selected in the header at the top. The feature is switched on and off per cluster.
  • The hunt groups and their members are set up in CUCM the way they should apply as the initial state.
  • For use by users, the area for hunt groups is enabled in the enduser portal.

Step by step: Enable group sign-in

  1. Open Groups → Hunt Groups and click Group sign-in at the top right.
  2. Check the status. For a new cluster it shows Disabled.
  3. Click Enable group sign-in.
  4. Confirm the prompt Save baseline and enable. EasyUC saves the current CUCM membership baseline of the cluster.
  5. Check the summary with the number of line groups, memberships and signed-out entries.
  6. Under Saved group memberships, search by group, number or user and check the entries.

Step by step: Sign in and out as administrator or helpdesk

  1. Under Saved group memberships, find the number.
  2. On the membership, click Sign out or Sign in. The display switches between Signed in and Signed out.
  3. Next to it, check whether Included in CUCM or Not included in CUCM matches the desired state.
  4. Click Remove permission if a number should permanently no longer be controllable through group sign-in, and confirm.

Step by step: As a user in the enduser portal

  1. The user signs in to the enduser portal.
  2. The Group sign-in area lists all permitted memberships with hunt group, line group, hunt pilot number and the user's own number.
  3. A click on Sign out or Sign in changes the participation of the number in this one group.
  4. With Refresh the user reloads the current state.

Step by step: Reconcile the baseline after CUCM changes

  1. Change the members of a Line Group as usual in CUCM or through Manage Members.
  2. Open Group sign-in and click Adopt CUCM configuration on the affected group.
  3. Confirm Reconcile membership baseline. Additions and removals from CUCM are included in the baseline. Memberships that were signed out deliberately remain available.
  4. For a new line group without a baseline, click Save membership baseline.

Check the result and troubleshoot

  • You recognise success by "Group status updated." and by the state Included in CUCM or Not included in CUCM.
  • "The group configuration changed in the meantime. The view has been refreshed; check the current membership.": Someone else made a change at the same time. Repeat the action.
  • "The CUCM configuration differs from the saved baseline. An administrator must reconcile membership.": Run Adopt CUCM configuration.
  • "This line group belongs to multiple hunt lists, so individual changes are locked." and "This number is shared. A unique personal assignment is required.": Shared line groups and shared lines cannot be controlled individually.
  • "The original member position is already occupied in CUCM.": Correct the order in CUCM and reconcile the baseline, or remove the obsolete permission.
  • "This Extension Mobility assignment does not currently support individual group sign-in.": For this membership only the HLOG switch remains.
  • "The phone is signed out using the device-wide HLOG switch.": Group sign-in shows signed in, but the phone still does not ring. Sign the device in again using HLOG.
  • If a user sees "There are no permitted group memberships for your numbers yet." in the portal, the number is missing from the baseline or it has no unique owner.
