EasyUC · Version 4.8.7

In EasyUC: Enduser portal → Devices → Line keys

What it is for

The Devices page shows all devices assigned to you: desk phones, Jabber clients and remote devices. Per device you see name, model, numbers and, if released, the registration status.

On desk phones you assign the keys next to the display yourself. A key can be a line (number), a speed dial or a speed dial with busy lamp (BLF). Which key types a phone has is given by the button template the administrators assigned.

The portal first collects changes as a draft. The phone is updated in CUCM only when you click Save.

Prerequisites

  • The enduser portal is switched on for your CUCM connection (Enable Enduser Local Site) and you can sign in.
  • The administrators have released User phones and line details. Otherwise the Devices menu item is missing.
  • For the status display: Phone registration status is released.
  • The Line keys button appears only on desk phones whose model the portal knows.
  • New numbers are assigned by the administrators. You choose from your own numbers and, if released, from the number plan.

Step by step: assign a speed dial or BLF key

  1. Click Devices in the menu.
  2. Find the phone under My Devices and click Line keys.
  3. The Line key assignments window shows the phone and below it all keys with number and type.
  4. On a key of type Speed Dial: enter number and label.
  5. On a key of type Speed Dial BLF: enter the destination or search for the number in the selection field. Enter a label.
  6. On a BLF key, tick Call Pickup if you want to pick up calls for this destination with the key.
  7. Click Save.

Step by step: put a number on a line key

  1. Open Devices → Line keys for the phone.
  2. If needed, select under Number of lines how many line keys the phone should have. The matching button template is chosen automatically. Assigned keys are kept.
  3. Click the line key you want to assign.
  4. Select the source: Number plan searches the released number ranges, Existing CUCM lines shows existing lines. If the choice is missing, you see only your own numbers.
  5. Narrow the list with the search field, in the number plan also with Location, Number range and Match.
  6. Click the number you want.
  7. If the number is already on other phones, the portal shows Shared Line information with the affected devices. Tick the box to confirm.
  8. If the number has no line in CUCM yet, the portal shows Create a new CUCM line. Tick I want to create this line when I save the phone.
  9. Click Use on line …. The key is now marked Changed · Save to apply.
  10. Click Save.

Check the result and troubleshoot

  • Success: after Save the portal shows a success message. The phone takes over the new assignment. Check the keys on the device.
  • “This count would move an edited key. Save or clear that edit first.”: save the open change first and change the number of lines afterwards.
  • “Verified line counts are currently unavailable. You can still save the current layout.”: the button templates could not be loaded. Speed dials can still be saved.
  • “No line settings are configured for this location. Contact your administrator.”: no new line can be created for the selected number. The administrators must add the settings at the location.
  • “Your numbers could not be loaded.”: click Retry.
  • The Line keys button is missing: the device is not a supported desk phone, for example a Jabber client.
  • “This feature is disabled for your CUCM connection.”: the administrators have not released the device page.
