CURRI Calls: block numbers, play an announcement or forward

Rules for called numbers with sound file, destination number and schedule.

EasyUC · Version 4.8.7

In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → CURRI → CURRI Calls

What it is for

With a CURRI call rule you define what happens to calls to a specific number without changing the routing in the CUCM. EasyUC can block the call, play an announcement and then hang up, or forward the call to another number.

Every rule has a schedule: permanently, within a date range or at specific hours per weekday. Typical cases are an announcement outside business hours, a temporary diversion or blocking an extension.

For the announcement, EasyUC uploads the sound file to the nodes of the CUCM and shows the status per node.

Prerequisites

  • CURRI is connected in the CUCM for the number concerned.
  • Permissions View Curri Calls Page (ROLE_APP_VIEW_CURRI_CALLS_PAGE) and Add phone number (ROLE_APP_CREATE_CURRI_CALLS). For replacing the file Update curri call sound file, for deleting Delete phone number.
  • An audio file for an announcement.

Step by step: Create a rule

  1. Open CURRI → CURRI Calls.
  2. Click Add Number. The dialog is called Add a new entry.
  3. Enter the Called Number.
  4. Select the type: Block call, Answer call and play soundfile or Forward calls to another number.
  5. For the announcement, select the Sound File and the Locale. For forwarding, enter the destination number under Divert to number.
  6. Select one of the three options under Call Schedule.
  7. For a date interval, select the Timezone as well as Start Time and End Time. For hours per day, select the days and the time periods for each day.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Call the number and check the behaviour.

Step by step: Maintain a rule

  1. On the rule, select Actions → Update Schedule to change the schedule.
  2. Select Actions → Update Sound File to replace the announcement.
  3. Select Actions → Retry Upload if the upload to a node has failed.
  4. Select Actions → Show Calls to see the calls the rule was applied to.

Check the result and troubleshoot

  • The rule is in the list with type, status and creation date.
  • Under Curri Logs, the test call appears with the result Blocked by rule, Announcement played or Call forwarded.
  • If the rule does not take effect, check the schedule and time zone and whether the CURRI profile in the CUCM applies to this number.
  • If a node shows an error for an announcement, use Retry Upload. As long as the upload is missing, this node cannot play the announcement.
  • Write the number the way it arrives at the CUCM as the called number.
