Enabling route patterns in EasyUC

Show the Route Patterns menu per CUCM connection and limit it to one route partition.

EasyUC · Version 4.8.7

In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → Administration → CUCM & Provisioning → CUCM Connections → Actions → Route pattern

Purpose

Route patterns define in the CUCM through which gateway or trunk a dialed number pattern leaves the system. EasyUC can display and edit these patterns in the EasyUC Cisco workspace under Route Patterns. In this dialog you define, per CUCM connection, whether this menu item appears and which patterns it shows.

The setting is stored in EasyUC only. Saving changes nothing in the CUCM. If the feature is switched off, EasyUC hides the Route Patterns menu item for this connection and the list stays empty.

The list is always limited to one partition. If you select a route partition, EasyUC shows only the route patterns of that partition. If you select none, EasyUC shows only route patterns that are not assigned to any partition in the CUCM. This keeps central patterns that not every operator should see out of the list.

Prerequisites

  • License with the cucm module and the provisioning feature. Without provisioning, the entry is missing from the Actions menu.
  • EasyUC account with the ROLE_APP_ADMIN role. Only administrators see the Administration menu.
  • The CUCM connection has been created and enabled. For a disabled connection, Actions shows only Enable Connection.
  • The route partition exists in the CUCM. The selection list is read from the CUCM of this connection.
  • Anyone who is to use the list later needs the ROLE_APP_VIEW_ROUTE_PATTERN_PAGE role.

Step by step

  1. In the header, select the EasyUC Cisco workspace.
  2. In the menu, open Administration → CUCM & Provisioning → CUCM Connections. The Manage CUCM Connections page lists all connections.
  3. In the row of the connection you want, click Actions. The Menu popover opens.
  4. Click Route Pattern. The Route pattern dialog opens.
  5. Switch on Enable. The Select a Route Partition field appears below it.
  6. Under Select a Route Partition, select the partition whose route patterns EasyUC is to display. Leave the field empty if only patterns without a partition are to appear.
  7. Click Save (top right or at the bottom of the dialog). The dialog closes and EasyUC shows a success message (“Success”). Cancel closes the dialog without changes.
  8. In the EasyUC Cisco workspace, open the Route Patterns menu item and check whether the expected patterns appear.

Fields and options

Fields and options
Field / actionMeaning and use
EnableSwitches route pattern management on for this connection. Default: off. When you switch it off, the dialog clears the selected partition.
Select a Route PartitionSingle selection from the route partitions of the CUCM. Only visible when Enable is switched on. Empty means: only route patterns without a partition.

Check the result and narrow down errors

  • Success: The Route Patterns menu item is visible in the EasyUC Cisco workspace and lists the patterns of the selected partition.
  • The menu item is missing: Check whether the correct CUCM connection is active at the top, whether Enable was saved and whether the account has the ROLE_APP_VIEW_ROUTE_PATTERN_PAGE role. Reload the page.
  • The list is empty although patterns exist in the CUCM: The patterns are in a different partition than the selected one. With an empty field, only patterns without a partition appear.
  • The selection list of partitions stays empty: EasyUC cannot reach the CUCM. Check the connection under Actions → Edit connection.
