Number range check on device creation
Check that a new directory number lies within an EasyUC number range, separately for UI and Public API.
In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → Administration → System & Operations → System Configuration → Device Creation Settings
What it is for
Each location has number ranges in EasyUC. With the number range check, EasyUC rejects the creation of a device if its phone number does not belong to any defined range. This prevents numbers outside the planned numbering space.
The check can be enabled separately for the user interface and for the Public API.
Prerequisites
- Access to the administration of the Cisco workspace, licence module
cucm. - The number ranges of the locations are maintained.
Step by step
Fields and options
| Field / action | Meaning and use |
|---|---|
| Check Number Range | If the option is active, the system checks on creation of a new device whether the phone number belongs to a number range defined in EasyUC. |
| Check Number Range (Public API) | The same check for devices created through the Public API. |
Check the result and troubleshoot
- With the check active, a number outside the ranges is rejected.
- If a valid number is rejected, compare the number format and the range limits of the location.
- The two options are independent. A working operation in the user interface says nothing about the API setting.
- A disabled check does not prevent numbers from being assigned twice in the CUCM.
