CUCM connection options
Voicemail Device Notification SMTP
Default for the SMTP notification of new Unity Connection mailboxes: events, recipient, text.
In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → Administration → CUCM & Provisioning → CUCM Connections → Actions → Voicemail notification (SMTP)
What it is for
Cisco Unity Connection can inform users about new messages by e-mail. For this, every mailbox has an SMTP notification device. With this action you define how EasyUC configures this device when it creates a mailbox for a user.
If the function is active, EasyUC enables the user's SMTP device in Unity Connection after creating the mailbox and transfers the delay, repetition, recipient, texts and the list of events. EasyUC first replaces placeholders such as {{email}} with the user's data.
The default applies to mailboxes that EasyUC creates afterwards. Saving does not change existing mailboxes.
Prerequisites
- License with provisioning (
provisioning). Without it, the entry is missing from the Actions menu. - Sign-in as an administrator. In the menu definition, the Administration menu is assigned only to the role
ROLE_APP_ADMIN. - The CUCM connection is enabled. For a disabled connection, Actions shows only Enable Connection.
- The connection has a voicemail integration with Cisco Unity Connection.
- Unity Connection can send e-mails (SMTP relay set up in Unity Connection).

Checking the result and narrowing down errors
- Success: for a newly created mailbox, the SMTP notification device in Unity Connection is active and carries your values.
- Field error for delay or interval: only values from 0 to 15 are permitted.
- Field error for To: the field must not be empty when the function is enabled.
- No event ticked: EasyUC then transfers no events, and no notification is ever sent.
- Existing mailboxes remain unchanged. Adjust their notification device in Unity Connection.
- No e-mail arrives: Unity Connection handles the sending. Check the SMTP delivery there and the user's recipient address.
- Short repeat intervals generate many e-mails. Check the value before you create many mailboxes.
