Branding: custom logo and design

What it is for

With branding you replace the EasyUC logo with your company logo. The logo appears in the sidebar of the administration, in the sidebar of the end-user portal and on its sign-in page. It applies to the entire installation.

EasyUC scales the uploaded image itself: to 180 × 45.6 pixels at most for the sidebar and to 300 × 76 pixels at most for the sign-in page. The aspect ratio is kept, and the rest of the area stays transparent.

Colors and fonts cannot be set freely. Instead, every user chooses between two designs in the header: Midnight (default, dark) and Aurora (light). This choice applies only to the user's own browser.

Prerequisites

• An account with the access type Administrator (full access) (ROLE_APP_ADMIN) or the owner account (ROLE_OWNER). Only these accounts see the Administration menu.
• An image file with the logo. PNG with a transparent background is recommended, in landscape format with an aspect ratio of about 4 to 1.
• A logo that is legible on a dark background. The sidebar is dark in the default design.

Step by step: uploading a logo

1. Open the EasyUC Cisco workspace.
2. Select Administration → Access & Appearance → Branding.
3. Click Upload Logo at the top right. The Upload Image window opens.
4. Select the file under Image. The Image Preview appears below it.
5. Click Upload.
6. Check the row Custom Logo on the page and the logo at the top of the sidebar.
7. Open the end-user portal in a second window and check the sign-in page and the sidebar.

Step by step: removing the logo

1. Open Administration → Access & Appearance → Branding.
2. In the row Custom Logo, click Delete.
3. The row disappears and the interfaces show the EasyUC logo again.

Step by step: changing the design

1. In the header, click the palette icon with the title Design.
2. Select Midnight (default) or Aurora. The change takes effect immediately.
3. The end-user portal has the same selection in its header. The choice there is independent of the administration.

Fields and options

Checking the result and narrowing down errors

• Success: message Success, the logo appears in the row Custom Logo and at the top of the sidebar.
• The logo looks small or has a lot of margin: the source image is too tall or has a wide empty margin. Crop the image tightly and upload it again.
• The logo is barely visible: use a variant for dark backgrounds or one with a transparent background and light lettering.
• Other users still see the old logo: they have to reload the page.
• A new logo replaces the existing one. There is only ever one custom logo.
• The design changes after switching browsers: the choice is stored in the browser and has to be made again there.
