Providing call forwarding on the IP phone

Assign the call forwarding menu as an XML service to the Cisco IP phones of a cluster, or remove it.

EasyUC · Version 4.8.7

In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → Administration → CUCM & Provisioning → CUCM Connections → “Call forwarding on IP phones” box

What it is for

With this box you provide an XML service on Cisco IP phones that lets users set the call forwarding of their lines directly on the phone. On the phone, the service is named “EasyUC Rufumleitungen” (EasyUC call forwards).

On the phone, the user first selects the number and then the forwarding type: Alle Anrufe (all calls), Keine Antwort (no answer), Besetzt (busy) or Nicht registriert (not registered). The phone menu is labelled in German. For each type, a destination number can be entered, forwarding can be switched off, or it can be set to voicemail. Except for “Alle Anrufe”, the call scope is selectable: internal + external, internal only or external only. Before saving, the phone shows a confirmation; for numbers on several devices, it points out that the change applies to all of them.

On assignment, EasyUC creates the IP phone service in the CUCM if it does not exist yet and subscribes the selected phones to it. Other service subscriptions of the phones are kept.

Prerequisites

  • Sign-in as an administrator (ROLE_APP_ADMIN). The action is released for administrators only.
  • License with the cucm module and at least one enabled CUCM connection.
  • The phones reach the EasyUC appliance via HTTP or HTTPS at the address entered. For HTTPS, the phones must trust the certificate of the appliance.
  • Physical Cisco IP phones of the cluster are offered. Softphones and device profiles are not in the list.

Step by step: assigning the service

  1. In the header, select the EasyUC Cisco workspace.
  2. Open Administration → CUCM & Provisioning → CUCM Connections.
  3. Above the connection list there is the Call forwarding on IP phones box.
  4. Under CUCM cluster, select the connection. EasyUC loads the service status and the phones.
  5. Check the Address for the phones. It is prefilled with the address under which you are currently accessing EasyUC, with http://.
  6. In the table, tick the phones you want. Use the search field to filter by device name, description or model. For all phones, tick All … target phones in this cluster.
  7. Click Assign service. The Review assignment section states the number of phones, the cluster and the address.
  8. Click Confirm assignment.
  9. Under Result, read the summary “… changed, … unchanged, … failed.”
  10. On one of the phones, press the services button and check whether “EasyUC Rufumleitungen” appears.

Step by step: removing the subscription

  1. Open Administration → CUCM & Provisioning → CUCM Connections and select the CUCM cluster in the Call forwarding on IP phones box.
  2. Tick the phones whose Service subscription column shows the value Subscribed.
  3. Click Remove subscription.
  4. Check the summary and click Confirm removal.
