Use the global and personal phonebook

Search company contacts and maintain your own contacts one by one or by CSV file.

EasyUC · Version 4.8.7

In EasyUC: Enduser portal → Global Directory / Personal Directory

What it is for

The Global Directory contains the contacts your administrators provide, for example from the company directory. You can search it but not change anything.

The Personal Directory belongs to you alone. You create contacts one by one or import a CSV file. Other users do not see these entries.

EasyUC also uses the phonebooks to find the name for a number on incoming calls, provided the administrators have set that up.

Prerequisites

  • The enduser portal is switched on for your CUCM connection (Enable Enduser Local Site) and you can sign in.
  • The administrators have released Enduser Phonebook and the licence includes the phonebook. Otherwise the menu items Global Directory, Personal Directory and Block Numbers are missing.
  • For the global directory: the administrators have created phonebooks with entries.

Step by step: search for a contact

  1. Click Global Directory or Personal Directory in the menu.
  2. Type the last name or part of it into the search field above the table. The search runs on the last name.
  3. Click a row to see all details of the contact.
  4. Page through at the bottom with First, Previous, Next and Last.

Step by step: create or import a personal contact

  1. Open Personal Directory.
  2. Click Add Number.
  3. Enter Phone Number and Last Name. Both are required. Add the other details as needed.
  4. Click Save.
  5. For many contacts, click Import CSV, select the file and click Upload.
  6. To change an entry, click edit in its row. To delete it, click the bin icon and confirm with Yes, remove it!

Check the result and troubleshoot

  • Success when creating: the contact appears in the table and the number next to Total increases.
  • Success when importing: message “The CSV was succesfully imported!”, followed by the number of new and updated entries.
  • “Invalid file format!”: the file does not have the extension .csv.
  • “The phone number was already added!”: the number is already in your personal directory.
  • “Please enter the phone number” or “Please enter the last name”: a required field is empty.
  • Imported entries are in the wrong columns: check column order and separator of the CSV file.
  • The menu items are missing: the phonebook is not released for your connection. After it has been released you must sign in again.
