EasyUC for Cisco

Registration history of a phone

Look up when a phone was registered, and with which IP address and firmware.

EasyUC · Version 4.8.7

In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → Devices → Phones → Actions → Registrations

What it is for

EasyUC queries the CUCM at fixed intervals for the registration state of all phones and stores one entry per query and device. The registration history shows these entries for a single phone.

It lets you find out since when a phone has no longer been registered, whether it changed its IP address and which firmware (load ID) it ran. The history shows measuring points at the configured interval. It is not a complete record of every registration and deregistration.

There are two views: the Registrations dialog from the actions menu and the Registration History tab in the phone profile. The evaluation across all devices is in the report Device Registrations.

Prerequisites

  • License module cucm.
  • Registrations dialog: role ROLE_APP_LIST_DEVICE_REGISTRATION.
  • Tab in the phone profile: roles ROLE_APP_VIEW_PHONE_PROFILE and ROLE_APP_VIEW_PHONE_PROFILE_REGISTRATION_HISTORY.
  • A polling interval is set on the CUCM connection under Actions → Device registration. The default is 15 minutes.
  • At least one complete query has run since it was switched on. Before that there is no data.
  • The device is a phone. There is no history for device profiles.

Step by step: open the history from the actions menu

  1. Open EasyUC Cisco → Devices → Phones and search for the device.
  2. In the row, click Actions → Registrations.
  3. The Registrations dialog lists the entries of the device, 25 per page. Registered states have a green background, unregistered ones a red background.
  4. Read the time of the query in the Verified At column and the IP address, load ID and number in Details.
  5. Use the page numbers at the bottom to go to older entries.
  6. Close the dialog with the × at the top right.

Step by step: open the history in the phone profile

  1. Under Devices → Phones, click the row of the device. The Phone Profile opens.
  2. Switch to the Registration History tab.
  3. If only the Load data button appears, click it. The history is loaded automatically only if Load Device Registration Data is switched on for the connection.
  4. Under Entries per page, set 20, 50, 100 or 200.
  5. Read the table from top to bottom and use the page navigation to move through it.
  6. Click Refresh to load the latest state.

Check the result and troubleshoot

  • Success: the newest entry is at most one polling interval old and matches the status in the phone list.
  • No registration data is available for this phone yet.: the query has not run since the device was created, or the device is older than the retention period. Check the interval and the background jobs.
  • Registration history could not be loaded.: click Try again. If the error remains, check whether the search index of the appliance is reachable.
  • The Registrations entry is missing in the actions menu: the role ROLE_APP_LIST_DEVICE_REGISTRATION is missing or the device is a device profile.
  • The Registration History tab is missing: the role ROLE_APP_VIEW_PHONE_PROFILE_REGISTRATION_HISTORY is missing.
  • Many entries with Unknown: the CUCM did not answer the status query. Check whether the CUCM was reachable at the time of the entries.
  • Short outages between two queries are not visible in the history. If required, shorten the interval on the connection.
  • For evaluations across all phones, for example devices that have not been registered for days, use Reporting → Device Registrations.
