Installation, updates & backup
Restoring a full backup on the same installation
Verify an .eucbak archive with the restore wizard and restore it to the existing installation.
In EasyUC: Manager → Sicherung → Wiederherstellung aus einer Vollsicherung → Restore-Assistent
What it is for
The restore wizard restores a full backup to the existing installation: database, files, CDR history and configuration. The licence and the identity keys of this system are kept; all users log in again.
Before the restore the Manager checks the archive without making any change: decryption, checksums and compatibility with this system. The instance keeps running. Only afterwards can the complete restore be started.
For a new appliance without an EasyUC installation there is a separate wizard, see the chapter "Disaster recovery".
Prerequisites
- A login to the Manager and the Manager password.
- The archive: in the catalogue of the appliance, as a file to upload, or on the remote target.
- The private key of a key the archive is encrypted for, as an unencrypted PKCS#8 file (
BEGIN PRIVATE KEY). - The EasyUC version of the source is at most as new as the installed version and has the same major version. The MariaDB version (major and minor) matches.
- For a possible rollback: a current full backup of this system. Download the archive to be restored beforehand, because the retention rule deletes older archives.
- A maintenance window.
Step by step
Fields and options
| Field / action | Meaning and use |
|---|---|
| Vollstaendige Wiederherstellung (empfohlen) | Database, files, CDR history and configuration. |
| Erweitert: nur die Datenbank aus dem Archiv wiederherstellen | Files and CDR history stay unchanged. References to recordings or announcements may point nowhere afterwards; confirming this is mandatory. The Pruefung step is omitted. |
| SSL-Zertifikate | Optional area, on by default. Takes over certificates and CAs of the source; the HTTPS certificate active there becomes active again. |
| Anderes Zertifikat aktivieren (optional, Name wie auf der SSL-Seite) | Empty = active certificate of the source. A name entered here activates that certificate instead. |
| Manager-Benutzer | Optional area, off by default. Afterwards the Manager passwords of the source apply. The two-factor setup is not taken over. |
| Remote-Ziel (Backup) | Optional area. Only taken over if no remote target has been set up here yet. |
| Speicher vor der Stilllegung vergroessern … | Raises the storage sizes if the archive needs more space. |
| Point of no Return | Nothing is changed before it. In the complete restore it begins with restoring the files, in "database only" with applying the configuration. |
| Schritt wiederholen / Ab Schritt neu starten | Repeats a failed run. The same private key file must be selected again. |
| Vollstaendig zurueckrollen | Restores the rollback archive selected before the start. There is no database-only rollback. |
| Admin-Override: Stilllegung aufheben … | Releases the instance with a reason and the password. It then runs on incompletely restored data. Use only when neither repeating nor rolling back is possible. |
Check the result and troubleshoot
- The status page shows all steps as done and a report with the number of files and CDR documents.
- "Die Wiederherstellung ist so nicht moeglich:" with a list: the check names the obstacles, for example differing versions or too little storage.
- "Passt zu keinem Schluessel-Slot des Archivs - anderen Key waehlen.": the private key does not belong to this archive.
- Error before the point of no return: nothing was changed and the Manager releases the instance. Fix the cause and start again.
- Error after it: the instance stays suspended. When reopened, the wizard shows the run under Nicht abgeschlossene Wiederherstellungen; Status anzeigen opens the status page with repeat, rollback and admin override.
- Note the hints in the report, for example references without a file or a certificate that could not be activated. In that case activate the certificate on the SSL-Zertifikate page.
- The database contains Teams recordings of the last 7 days. After an older backup has been restored, the regular clean-up run deletes older recordings.
- The labels on this page are German and write umlauts as ae, oe and ue. This chapter quotes the labels as the interface shows them.
