End-user portal
Let a mobile phone ring as well (Remote Destination)
Create a Remote Destination Profile or Mobile Identity and set schedule and timers.
In EasyUC: Enduser portal → Devices → Remote Devices
What it is for
With a remote device, a call to your office number also rings another phone, for example your mobile phone. Cisco calls this Single Number Reach. Callers still dial only your office number.
There are two types. A Remote Destination Profile always rings in parallel with your other phones while it is active. A Mobile Identity belongs to a Jabber client on the smartphone and rings only when this client is not connected.
The portal creates the remote destination in CUCM and links it to your numbers. With a ring schedule you limit on which days and at which times the destination device rings as well.
Prerequisites
- The enduser portal is switched on for your CUCM connection (Enable Enduser Local Site) and you can sign in.
- The administrators have released User phones and line details. The remote devices are on the Devices page.
- The package assigned to your location contains a template for Remote Destination Profile or for Mobile Identity. Without a template the add buttons are missing.
- For a Mobile Identity you already have a Jabber device for iPhone or Android.
- CUCM limits the number of remote destinations per user. The administrators set the limit.
Step by step: create a remote device
Step by step: change or delete a remote device
Fields and options
| Field / action | Meaning and use |
|---|---|
| Mobile Number | Destination number. Digits, * and # are allowed, optionally with a leading +, at most 50 characters. |
| Directory Numbers | Your own numbers that are linked to the Remote Destination Profile. At least one. |
| Device | Only for Mobile Identity: the associated Jabber device. |
| Delay Before Ring | Seconds before the destination device rings after your office number was dialled. 0 to 30. |
| Answer to Soon Timer | If the destination answers earlier than this time, CUCM treats it as the mobile phone's mailbox and does not connect the call. 0 to 10 seconds. |
| Answer to Late Timer | After this time the destination device stops ringing so that the call does not end up in its mailbox. 0 or 10 to 300 seconds. |
| Ring Schedule | All the time or, per weekday, All day, a period from … to … or No Office Hours. |
| Timezone | Time zone in which the times of the schedule apply. |
| MS Team | Label on the card if the Remote Destination Profile was created by the administrators for the Teams connection. |
Check the result and troubleshoot
- Success: a new card with the destination is in the Remote Devices area. Call your office number and check that the destination device rings as well.
- “Remote Destination cannot be added because the Remote Destination Limit set by Administrator for this EndUser account has already been reached.”: the permitted number is reached. Delete an existing remote device or contact the administrators.
- “Remote Destination must be a phone number or URI.” or “Invalid destination …”: the destination number contains characters that are not allowed.
- “This value should be between 0 seconds and 30 seconds.”, “… between 0 seconds and 10 seconds.” or “… either 0 seconds or between 10 seconds and 300 seconds.”: a timer is outside the permitted range.
- “Please add at least one line” or “Please add at least one device”: number or Jabber device is missing.
- The mobile phone does not ring: check the ring schedule and the time zone. With a Mobile Identity the destination rings only when the Jabber client is not connected.
- The add buttons are missing: no matching template is stored for your location.
