EasyUC for Cisco

Group sign-in as an XML service on the phone

Deploy the IP phone service "EasyUC Gruppen-Anmeldung" to individual or all phones of a cluster.

EasyUC · Version 4.8.7

In EasyUC: EasyUC Cisco → Groups → Hunt Groups → Group sign-in → XML service: group sign-in

What it is for

With the XML service, users sign in to or out of individual hunt groups directly on the Cisco phone. The service first shows the numbers of the phone, then for each number the permitted groups with their status.

For this purpose, EasyUC creates the IP phone service "EasyUC Gruppen-Anmeldung" (EasyUC group sign-in) in CUCM and subscribes the selected phones to it. The service uses the same saved baseline as the enduser area. Every change on the phone has to be confirmed once more before it is carried out.

Prerequisites

  • Group sign-in is enabled for the cluster. As long as it is disabled, changes on the phone are locked as well.
  • The same roles as for group sign-in. With ROLE_APP_READ_ONLY the area is read-only.
  • The phones reach the EasyUC appliance over HTTP or HTTPS. For HTTPS, the phones must trust the certificate.
  • The target phones are IP phones with device names that start with SEP or BAT.

Step by step: Provide the service

  1. Open Groups → Hunt Groups → Group sign-in and scroll to the section XML service: group sign-in.
  2. In Address for the phones, enter the HTTP or HTTPS address of the appliance, optionally with /admin-api.
  3. Click Refresh status. The list shows the model and the Service subscription for each phone.
  4. Search by device name, description or model and select the phones. For the whole cluster, select All … target phones in this cluster.
  5. Click Provide group service.
  6. Under Review assignment, check the number of phones and confirm with Provide group service.
  7. Read the Result: changed, unchanged, failed.
  8. On the phone, press the services button, select EasyUC Gruppen-Anmeldung, then the number and the group, and confirm the change.

Step by step: Remove the service

  1. Select the phones with the status Subscribed.
  2. Click Remove group service and confirm.

Check the result and troubleshoot

  • The line "… of … phones subscribe to the service." shows the state after reloading.
  • "Changed in CUCM · phone apply pending" or "Phone apply could not be confirmed for … phones. Check the service on the phone.": The subscription exists in CUCM, but the phone has not applied it yet.
  • "Use the appliance HTTP(S) address, optionally ending in /admin-api, without credentials, query parameters or a fragment.": Correct the address.
  • On the phone „Dieser Dienst ist fuer das Telefon nicht freigeschaltet.“ (this service is not enabled for the phone): The phone has no valid subscription. Provide the service again.
  • On the phone „Die individuelle Gruppen-Anmeldung ist fuer diesen Cluster ausgeschaltet.“ (individual group sign-in is disabled for this cluster): Enable group sign-in.
  • On the phone „Diese Auswahl ist abgelaufen oder bereits verwendet. Bitte erneut starten.“ (this selection has expired or was already used, please start again): Open the service again.
