EasyUC Manager
What the Manager is, how its operator works and which tasks you carry out in it.
What the Manager is
The EasyUC Manager is the management interface for the cluster and the EasyUC installation. It consists of an API with a built-in Kubernetes operator and a web interface, and is installed with Helm in the easyuc-system namespace.
The interface is available at the path /manager on your EasyUC host. The API is at /manager-api.
https://<your-host>/manager
Operator and custom resource
The operator watches a single custom resource of type EasyUC (k8s.easy-uc.com/v1alpha1). It describes what the installation should look like. The operator continuously reconciles the cluster with it: whatever is missing or differs, it creates or adjusts.
| Area | Contents |
|---|---|
| Target version | The EasyUC version that should run |
| Modules | Selected modules: cucm, teams, acd, presence |
| MariaDB, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ | Image and storage size per data service |
| Hostname | Hostname of the installation |
| Components | Settings per application component |
| Status | Conditions such as Ready, Updating and Initialized, the running version and the active modules |
Tip
You change the target version and the modules in the Manager. It writes the change into the resource and the operator applies it.
Reconcile order
The operator works in a fixed order. Each step waits until the previous one has completed.
- Status of the EasyUC resource
- Registry credentials
- MariaDB
- Elasticsearch
- RabbitMQ
- Application secret
- Initialisation job with database migrations and search indexes
- Application components
- Add-ons
acd-media,teams-sbcandteams-ps
Note
If an add-on fails, the operator retries it every 30 seconds. This does not block the other steps.
What you do in the Manager
The Manager is where you operate the platform. Tasks by area:
Status
- View component and deployment status live
- Trigger a reconcile manually
Modules and versions
- Select modules, which sets the deployment type
- Apply an EasyUC update: upload the signed package file (
.eucpkg), install it and reset to the previous version if needed - Upload offline image bundles
- Update the Manager itself
Nodes and storage
- List nodes with CPU and RAM usage
- Add and remove nodes, change the display name of a node. The technical name is fixed at installation.
- View Longhorn volumes with state, robustness and size
Backup and certificates
- Create, list, download, upload and restore database backups
- Create, transfer and restore encrypted full backups, manage backup keys
- Configure a remote backup target and schedule
- Web certificate: create a CSR, upload certificate and CA chain, activate
System
- Install signed operating system patches and upgrades and reboot the node afterwards
- Protect the Manager login with a second factor
- Migrate from EasyUC 3.x using an encrypted export file
- Reset to factory settings. The Manager first takes a database backup and, if a backup key is stored, by default a full backup.
Licence
Important
You upload the licence in the EasyUC admin interface, not in the Manager. It must cover the modules you select in the Manager.
